When Jesus spoke to his disciples just prior to his resurrection, He told them that the Old Testament is about Himself and His Gospel (Luke 24:27; 44-47). As we read the Old Testament, we are confronted with a massive ancient history, spanning over thousands of years. Hundreds of names, dozens of foreign nations, laws, sacrifices, and feasts all comprise the tome of ancient Scripture. What does this have to do with Christ and His Gospel? Volume 1 of The Bible in the Ancient World will provide your students with a study of Old Testament history and geography, and how these background details are a necessary part of understanding the Gospel. In 18 easily completed lessons, the student is introduced to a full layout of Biblical History as they read through Scripture, background lessons, and complete map projects. Additionally, dozens of photos from Bible lands are presented to the student along the way. In completing this curriculum, your student will gain a firm grasp on how the historical and geographical details of the Old Testament are essential components of that which Jesus says, “concerns himself.”
This video is based on a college project in which I had to show the exploits of David while he was being chased by Saul. I put it together mostly for fun.
